Thayne's Baby Blessing Weekend

It was a lot of fun to have family in town over the Martin Luther King Day weekend for Thayne's baby blessing.  My entire family, and Robbie's parents were able to come.  We are blessed to have very supportive families.

On Saturday we went to The California Science Center to see the space shuttle Endeavour.  Everyone loved the museum and seeing the space shuttle.  Sunday was the baby blessing, brunch and then nap time for some and beach time for others.  Here are some pictures of the weekend.

Thayne

This is a picture post.

1 WEEK OLD

This is Julia feeding Thayne.  She absolutely adores him, or babies in general.

This is my mom with Thayne before she went home.  We are extremely grateful for her help!

2 WEEKS OLD

My sister Rachel came to visit.  It was fun to have her come!

We were also lucky to have Robbie's mom come and visit.  I feel really bad, but I do not have any pictures of her with Thayne.  Good thing she is coming in 2 weeks for his blessing.

Christmas

We spent Christmas at home in LA this year due to the arrival of Thayne.  I was very apprehensive and worried that my Christmas holiday would be lonely, but we were lucky that Robbie's brother Adam and his wife Lauren and daughter Julia decided to stay too.

Christmas Eve we had Adam, Lauren, Julia, and one of Robbie's fellow residents and his wife, Christiaan & Stephanie, over for dinner.  In my family, the tradition is to have a yummy dinner followed by reading the Christmas story and singing Christmas carols.  So, to keep up with tradition,  we did just that.  I am lucky that everyone there went along with the plan.  We had an amazing meal, read the Christmas story and Lauren, who is an amazing pianist, brought her keyboard so we could sing Christmas carols.  It was a fun evening that I will never forget.  The only thing we didn't accomplish was to watch It's A Wonderful Life.

Here are some pictures of Julia in her Christmas dress and Thayne in the Santa suit that my nephew Sam wore during his first Christmas.  There are also some pictures of my Christmas decorations.

Christmas Day we went over the Adam and Lauren's to open presents and have breakfast.  It was a lot of fun to watch Julia, who is 2, open presents.

Here are some pictures of Christmas morning.

This is Julia's monkey tail!  She thought this was fun.
